I dont know what i exactly did that it stopped working but :'D oh god its probably a really dumb question buuuut I really need some help now :o. There is an issue in the release build that can cause keyboard shortcuts to become disabled. If you press Escape in the Pressure dialog, it will cause it.
I imagine you might be able to trigger it from another dialog too. If you install it, let me know how you get on! You can post now and register later. But there are differences too, including some Illustrator features that Designer doesn't have an equivalent for. You will have to complete a short form to access it for the first time only.
Serif doesn't only make vector design software. It also offers Affinity Photo, a decent and keenly priced alternative to Adobe Photoshop.
If you want a full suite of design apps, this is probably one of the most affordable ways to get it. Combining Designer, Photo, and Publisher, you should be able to do pretty much anything you want. And using the shortcuts in our cheat sheet, it shouldn't be too difficult either.

I'm having the same issue which I've raised with Serif. Unfortunately, no, I never received a cure, but tried all the suggestions. I have re-installed, updated Affinity, /56757.txt computers and, of course, changed keyboard project 2013 missing manual pdf no avail.
In changing to a new computer, also ditched the mini keyboard. I have gotten so used to it, I save my work and restart as a matter of course. I am not happy with this inconvenience, but as I said, it is a bargain-priced software.
It is bargain-priced software but that's no excuse. Affinity advertises their software as 'Professional Creative Software', their words, and so naturally one would not expect such a multitude of bugs in the software, bugs that seriously impede workflow. Publisher crashed on me yesterday and minutes before it crashed I manually saved my work, when I reopened, I had lost about the last two hours worth of work.
Not acceptable. I just find it strange that only a very very small handful of people seem to be having this issue of key presses not being recognised.
